TENNIS (GIRLS)
Indications are that girls’ tennis started in 1973 and was played in the Spring until 1977 when it was moved to the Fall. This resulted in two championships in 1977. Team Championships were awarded on the basis of advancement points by individuals in the overall tournament up until 1987. During 1987, 1988 and 1989 no team championships were awarded. Beginning in 1990 the team championships have been determined by the champion team from each league (Berks, Lancaster-Lebanon, Mid-Penn and York) playing each other. Starting with the 1998-99 school year, classifications were moved form a single classification to AAA and AA.
